I Say Merry Christmas Every Chance I Get, Too

Brenda’s Sunday Afternoon Tea post at Coffee, Tea, Books and Me linked to Sallie’s blog, A Quiet Simple Life, about her crusade to greet everyone she meets with a traditional “Merry Christmas”.

Sallie sounds like a very nice person and a gentler soul than I am. All this happy holiday nonsense makes me crazy. On the other hand, I don’t want to bark MERRY CHRISTMAS at folks; that would be … uh…not exactly showing the proper spirit of Jesus. Well, not even close.

However, I think that again this year, I’ll put on a cheerful face and wish everyone a Merry Christmas. I’ve only had one Jewish friend and she moved away, but I wished her a Happy Channukah and she wished me a Merry Christmas. Neither of us was offended.
