Weatherford, Texas (part I)

Weatherford, Texas
Approaching the Parker County Courthouse from the north on highway 51. It’s a very imposing and lovely sight.

Parker County Courthouse
Ideally, I’d like to take some photographs with no cars in between me and the courthouse, but Weatherford is a bustling town. Not overcrowded, but lively, and seldom are the streets deserted.

Here’s the replacement bridge on the old Ft. Worth Highway several blocks east of the courthouse. It was very troubling to me when they made plans to tear down the old one, but I’m pleased that they did such a good job with the new one. Not as stylish as the original, but definitely not bad.

This one was taken about sunset.

  2. Thanks. Joe took that one. We passed these two longhorn cows with their calves, lying down in the shade and it looked like a very Texas summer scene, so we went back and snapped some photos.
