Pearl Harbor Day

December 7, 1941, the day that changed the course of history for the United States.

The vicious attack that killed 2,303 young American men who were not at war united our people to fight a beastly enemy.

My earnest hope is that we have not forgotten the lesson of Pearl Harbor and World War II.

Governors react to planned parenthood videos

From the August 4, 2015 article at The Daily Signal:

Gov. Bobby Jindal is directing Louisiana to investigate acts by planned parenthood Gulf Coast.

And in Texas, “Greg Abbott also has ordered a probe of Planned Parenthood’s activities in his state.”

Let’s see if any of the other governors are men and women of honor and follow suit.

pp list update

From The Daily Signal: “Coca-Cola also asked Planned Parenthood to remove it from the website. “The Coca-Cola Company does not contribute to Planned Parenthood,” a representative told The Daily Signal. “We do not match employee contributions to Planned Parenthood.” ”

Mike, a commenter, pointed out that The Daily Signal list is incomplete and that there are more planned parenthood donors. I think he’s correct.

The ones listed in my previous post are the ones that planned parenthood listed on their own website. I guess they were really proud of them.

They have since removed the online list.

We don’t live in Mayberry any more

IMG_20150401_195051

Merriam Webster defines Persecution as –
1: the act or practice of persecuting especially those who differ in origin, religion, or social outlook
2: the condition of being persecuted, harassed, or annoyed

This is no longer the same country that the Pilgrims came to seeking religious freedom. It isn’t even the same country in which I was born.

I am not saying that the harassment in America is analogous to what Christians in North Korea or virtually any country in the Middle East (and several in the Far East) suffer. We know the difference between full blown persecution and what’s happening to Believers in the United States. They live under life threatening persecution. We are being harassed and annoyed. But it is stepping up quickly and now involves government prosecution.

I pray that it doesn’t get worse, but we would be foolish not to have our lamps trimmed.

Psalm 124

1. If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, now may Israel say;

2. If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us:

3. Then they had swallowed us up quick, when their wrath was kindled against us:

4. Then the waters had overwhelmed us, the stream had gone over our soul:

5. Then the proud waters had gone over our soul.

6. Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.

7. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.

8. Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.

Subterfuge at McDonald’s

Today after church we met our pastor and one of his daughters at McDonald’s for lunch. We sat talking for quite awhile after we finished eating.

A young woman (maybe 19 or 20 years old) was walking around the restaurant, stopping at various tables for a minute or so. She approached our table with her cell phone held in front of her and asked our pastor’s daughter (hereafter referred to as P.D.) if she would participate in a … I can’t remember what she called it …. it wasn’t a public service announcement, but something like that.

She wanted two words repeated, which she would record with her cellphone camera, and said that the recordings of several people would be spliced together to make the video. We’ve all seen these things on television or the internet; it looks like a patchwork statement.

P. D. is a young adult and can make her own decisions and she agreed and did it.

Next, the girl turned to our pastor and asked him. He replied by asking what her t-shirt said. (It was some kind of leftist nonsense.)

Then he asked her what was the goal of the video she was making. She replied that it had to do with nutrition.

At that point, I joined the conversation and asked if it was an anti-McDonald’s video. She looked a little sheepish and said yes.

I told her that we wouldn’t assist her because we love McDonald’s, to which she said “I’m sorry.” I said she didn’t have to be sorry about it because we were happy to eat there.

So she left our table and kept going around to other tables looking for unsuspecting tools for her propaganda.

Now that made me mad. If she wanted to ask students at her campus (she looked like a high school or college student) to participate but informing them first what her goals were, that’s one thing.

But to play upon the generosity of strangers and then make them look like fools is something entirely different. It’s dishonest and cruel.

Just what I’d expect from the Left.

So, please be aware that there are wolves among the sheep, and if an innocent-looking young person or innocent looking old person or anyone else asks you to participate in something – ask questions before you agree.

Or you’re likely to see yourself on a video, seemingly saying something that you never said.
